Favorites: October 2013

Ik loop een beetje veel achter op mijn schema deze maand. Ik had wat problemen met m'n laptop waardoor ik niets meer kon posten. Ik heb nog altijd wat problemen om video's te editen. Hierdoor zal ik geen video's maken tot dit is opgelost (voornamelijk video van Deauty bedoel ik dan). Hopelijk vinden jullie dit niet erg én hier zijn dan mijn late favorieten van de maand oktober ;)!

My schedule for this month started out a little bit late. I had some problems with my laptop, so I couldn't upload anything. I still have some problems with editing videos. So for that reason I won't be doing any videos until that is solved as well! I hope you guys don't mind and here are my late favorites ;)!

NYC Cosmetics: BB Crème

Ik denk dat elk ander make-up merk al een BB crème uitbracht, maar toen ik laatst zag dat NYC er nu ook één had, moest ik hem uitproberen!

I think every other brand already came out with a BB Crème, but when I saw NYC also had one now, I had to try it out!

De verpakking is een beetje standaard voor een BB cream, dus niets speciaal. Ik koos de kleur light, maar ik dacht dat er slechts twee kleuren beschikbaar zijn. Dus je moet wel wat geluk hebben dat één van deze twee kleuren juist passen bij jouw huidskleur.

Deze zogenaamde skin perfector heeft een multi-actie huid formule: hij helpt je huid te beschermen, hij minimaliseert poriën, hij wist huid imperfecties uit en minimaliseert fijne lijntjes, verder maakt hij de huid egaler en geeft hij een healthy glow voor een meer naturelle look.

Ik vind deze BB crème ok. Hij voelt goed aan op de huid en is makkelijk aan te brengen. Toen ik hem op mijn hand swatchte zag ik wel dat hij wat glitters bevat. Maar wanneer je hem op je gezicht aanbrengt, valt dit eigenlijk niet op. 

Er zijn slechts twee punten dat ik niet zo goed vond. Eerst en vooral zouder er meer kleuren moeten beschikbaar zijn en ookal covert hij redelijk goed, ik had toch beter verwacht.

The packaging looks standard for a BB cream, nothing too special. I took the colour light, but I believe there were only two colours, which I don't like. You have to be lucky if one of these two match your skintone. 

This so-called skin perfector has a multi-action skin formula: he helps to protect the skin, he minimizes pores, he erases skin imperfections and minimizes fine lines, makes the skin smoother and brightens the skin for a more natural look. 

I think this BB crème is alright. He feels good on the skin and he is easy to apply. However when I swatched it on my hand I did see that it contains some glitters. But when I applied it on my face I didn't notice them. 

There are only two points I didn't like too much about this BB crème. They should make more colour variations and although he does cover up rather well, I'd expected it to be better.

NOTD: Disco Inferno

Het is weer een tijdje geleden dat ik nog eens een NOTD deed, en om eerlijk te zijn heb ik een lange en vermoeiende week achter de rug, dus had ik niet zoveel zin om m'n nagels een leuk kleurtje te geven. Maar vandaag was een relaxte dag voor me en besloot ik m'n nagels weer een leuk kleurtje te geven.

It's been a while since I posted an NOTD, but to be honest I have had a long and tiring week so I did not feel like doing my nails really. But today I had a very needed relaxed day and decided to do my nails.

Gebruikt / Used:

- Catrice  Moonlight Express (Limited edition Out of space): Een oldie uit m'n collectie, maar niettemin een prachtig lakje! Het is dé perfecte donkerblauwe (bijna zwarte) kleur met kleine glittertjes. En hij dekt ook supergoed!

An old one, but nevertheless a beautiful colour! It is the perfect dark blue (almost black) with tiny glitters. And he covers up really good!

- NYC topcoat Disco Inferno: Een nieuwe topcoat! & Iloveit! Sommige topcoats geven bijna geen glitters af wanneer je ze aanbrengt, maar deze is echt super hierin! Hij heeft een mengeling van zilvere en blauwe glitters waardoor ik hem super vind bij het donkere lakje van Catrice.

A new topcoat! &Iloveit! Some topcoats do not give alot of glitters when applied, but this one works really well! It has a mix of silver and blue sparkles which makes me love the combination with the dark polish from Catrice.

NOTD: NYC Quick Dry Nailpolish *All of the Lights*

Another NOTD for you guys! Lately I have been obsessing over dark nailpolishes. More specific blues, purples and greens! Absolutely love them for fall!

Hier ben ik weer met een NOTD voor jullie! De laatste tijd ben ik echt verslaafd aan donkere nagellakken. Om meer precies te zijn: blauwe, paarse en groene! Ik vind ze absoluut fantastich voor de herfst!

I've said it before, NYC is one of my favourite brands that isn't too expensive. When I saw the colour All of the lights I just had to get it. It is such a beautiful dark purple. Love it!

Ik heb het al eens eerder gezegd, NYC is één van m'n favoriete merken dat niet te duur is. Toen ik de kleur All of the lights zag, moest ik hem gewoon kopen. Hij heeft zo'n prachtige donker paarse kleur. Love it!

NYC Quickdry Nailpolish *Blue Sky*

Lately I have been loving blue nailpolish. At the moment it's mainly dark blues, since fall is coming up. But this light blue is a perfect summer colour! Or even a perfect colour on those warm sunny days (which we had last week).

De laatste tijd heb ik het echt voor blauwe nagellakken. Nu zijn het vooral donker blauwe kleuren, omdat de herfst er aan zit te komen. Maar dit licht blauw kleurtje is perfect voor de zomer! Of zelfs gewoon perfect op die zonnige, warme dagen (die we vorige week nog hadden).

I'm a big fan of NYC's nailpolishes. I really like the packaging, the nailpolish is so easy to apply and they dry very quick! This colour is called Blue Sky. Is has slightly a green tone to it, but once you have applied it and it has dried it becomes this beautiful baby blue turquoise. It is an amazing colour and looks similar to the oh-so-famous blue colour from Tiffany & co.

Ik ben echt een grote fan van NYC's nagellakken! Ik hou van de verpakking, de nagellak is erg makkelijk aan te brengen en ze drogen enorm snel! Deze kleur noemt Blue Sky. Hij heeft een beetje een groene toon, maar eens je hem aanbrengt en hij droog is, heeft hij een mooie baby blauwe, turqouise kleurtje. Het is zo'n prachtig kleurtje en hij lijkt op de oh-zo-beroemde blauwe kleur van Tiffany & co.

NYC: City Duet 2in1 Lip Color

I have a real obsession with lip products. When I saw that NYC came out with these 2in1 lip colors, I just had to try them out!

 

Ik ben echt geobsedeerd met lipproducten. Toen ik zag dat NYC uitkwam met deze 2in1 lip colors, moest ik ze sowieso uitproberen!

These lip colors came out in 2 colours: The Rock a Fellas, which are such pretty coral colours and The Café Cuties, which is a nude and a darker brown colour. If you check the swatches I made, you can see how beautifully pigmented these lip colors are! In the beginning I thought they wouldn't be  easy to apply because of the two colours. But they are actually really easy to apply! I think these 2in1 lip colour are amazing products, since you get two colours in one! You should definitely try them out if you get the chance!

 

Deze lip colors kwamen uit in twee kleuren: The Rock a Fellas, twee prachtige koraal kleurtjes en The Café Cuties, een leuke nude kleur en een donkerbruine kleur. Als je naar de swatches kijkt die ik maakte, zie je hoe mooi gepigmenteerd deze lip colors zijn! In het begin dacht ik eigenlijk dat ze een beetje onhandig zouden zijn om aan te brengen, door de 2in1 kleurtjes, maar ze zijn eigenlijk echt enorm makkelijk aan te brengen! Ik vind dit echt super lipproducten omdat je twee kleurtjes in één product krijgt. Als je de kans krijgt om ze uit te proberen, moet je dit zeker doen!

NYC: Sweet Splash Gloss Sticks

When it comes to lipproducts, gloss sticks like these ones are my favourites! They are really easy to apply, give a nice gloss and a nice colour to your lips.

 

Als het op lipproducten komt zijn gloss sticks zoals deze mijn favoriete producten! Ze zijn zo makkelijk aan te brengen, geven je lippen een leuke gloss en een mooi kleurtje.

The sweet splash gloss sticks are available in three different colours.  I decided to go with only two of them: Revived berry which is a really nice pigmented berry colour and Mango Punch which gives your lips more of a nice gloss rather than a colour. The other available colour is Pink Spark which has a subtle pink colour.

 

De sweet splash gloss sticks zijn beschikbaar in drie verschillende kleurtjes. Ik besloot om er slechts twee te kopen: Revived berry, een prachtige gepigmenteerde bessenkleur en Mango Punch, wat je lippen meer een leuke gloss geeft. De andere kleur dat je ook nog kan krijgen is Pink Spark, deze geeft je lippen een subtiele roze kleur.

NOTD: Mint Nailart

It has been a long time since I did a real nailart on my nails. But I just remembered how much I used to like doing it, and how it would just calm me down. I did this nailart last weekend and I used a mint colour as the base colour because I think it is such a nice colour for summer! Whenever I don't know what colour to put on my nails next, I always choose mint. And I think that this one by Essie is just the perfect mint colour ever!

 

Het was echt lang geleden dat ik nog een echte nailart op mijn nagels deed. Maar ik dacht terug aan hoe leuk ik dit vroeger vond, en dat het me echt tot rust kon brengen. Ik deed deze nailart vorig weekend en ik gebruikte een mint kleurtje als basiskleur omdat het zo'n super kleur is voor de zomer! En deze mint kleur dat ik gebruikte van Essie is gewoon de perfecte mint kleur voor mij!

Colour Editions: Red

Colour Editions is a new series I'm starting on my blog. Every month you can expect me to cover one colour and show you my favourite products in the colour. I choose to start with red because I feel you can't go wrong with red. However, I was a little bit surprised that I could only come up with 4 products, but they are 4 products I absolutely love!

 

Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple is an amazing pigmented orange-red colour.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Cherry Blossom is more of a berry red colour. This one is my absolute favourite red lipstick!

NYC Applelicious Lip Balm in Big Apple Red is a really nice lip balm that also give a subtle colour. Obviously in this case, the colour pay-off is red. I love putting this lip balm under a red lipstick.

NYC Quickdry Nailpolish in Revolving Red is my alltime favourite red nailpolish!

Colour Editions is een nieuwe serie dat ik wil starten op m'n blog. Elke maand kan je een post verwachten met één kleur als thema, hierbij toon ik dan een aantal productjes in deze kleur dat ik graag gebruik. Ik besloot om de serie te starten met rood omdat ik vind dat rood altijd leuk is en met veel samengaat. Ik was wel een beetje verrast dat ik maar 4 perfecte producten kon vinden, maar het zijn er wel vier waar ik enorm van hou!

Every Sunday I give my nails a new color and design. So last Sunday I choose for a gorgeous pink color and to add some glitters on the bottom of my nails.

 

Elke zondag geef ik mijn nagels een ander kleurtje en design. Dus vorige zondag koos ik voor deze prachtige roze kleur en wat glitters.

NOTD: Silver Splash

 

Today I got a new nailart for you guys. It's really easy to do and looks so nice! As with most nailarts your can choose the colors you'd like to do it with. I choose blue and silver because blue is my favorite color and I love it in combination with silver!

 

Vandaag heb ik opnieuw een nailart voor jullie. Het is enorm makkelijk om zelf te doen en ziet er zo leuk uit! Zoals met de meeste nailarts kan je natuurlijk andere kleuren kiezen als je dat wil. Ik koos om deze nailart met blauw en zilver te doen omdat blauw mijn lievelingskleur is en ik vind het prachtig in combinatie met zilver!

 

 

Products used: NYC 'Pier 17' - H&M 'Sparkling silver' - Barry M 'Basecoat Topcoat & Nail hardener'  Hema 'Cuticle lemon oil'

 

Step 1: Apply a basecoat.

Step 2: Choose which color you want all over your nail. I choose NYC's 'Pier 17' which is gorgeous blue with shimmer and some subtle glitters.

Step 3: Apply your second nailcolor. I choose H&M's 'Silver Sparkle' which is a nice silver color. You can choose any color you'd like for this!

Step 4: Whilest your second color is still wet you press a paper tissue on your nail making this cool design! The goal of this step is that you can see your first nail color coming through the second one.

Step 5: Apply a topcoat.

Step 6: Apply some cuticle oil on your cuticles! To finish off you can put some handcream on your hands and your done!

 

Gebruikte producten: NYC 'Pier 17' - H&M 'Sparkling silver' - Barry M 'Basecoat Topcoat & Nail hardener' Hema 'Cuticle lemon oil'

 

Stap 1: Breng een basecoat aan op je nagels.

Stap 2: Kies welke kleur je als eerste wilt aanbrengen. Ik koos voor NYC's 'Pier 17', een prachtige blauwe kleur met een shimmer en subtiele glitters.

Stap 3: Breng je tweede kleur aan. Ik koos voor H&M's 'Silver Sparkle' een mooie zilvere kleur.

Stap 4: Terwijl deze tweede kleur nog nat is, druk je een stukje keukenrol/papier op je nagels, zodat je dit leuke design krijgt. De bedoeling is dat de eerste kleur dat je aanbracht door de tweede kleur verschijnt!

Stap 5: Breng een topcoat aan op je nagels.

Stap 6: Breng wat cuticle oil aan op je nagelriemen. Hierna kan je wat handcréme gebruiken en dan ben je klaar!

1. Catrice Eyebrow lifter "Cassablanca Highlights" (Limited Edition: Hollywoods Fabulous 40ties). I actually use this in the inner corner of my eyes. It's a soft nude pink color which really brightens up my eyes.

2. E.l.f. Eyelid primer "Champagne"

4. Vaseline Lip therapy "Aloe Vera" I didn't use this the whole month, but it's in my favorites because in the beginning of the month my lips were broken. I used this lip jelly and the next day my lips were already alot better!

5. L'Oréal Top coat "Confettis" I put an NOTD if this top coat where I paired it together with a pinkish red color. I absolutelly loved the combo of both and I had a lot of compliments on the top coat!

6. Urban Decay Naked palette. I have been loving the black color Creep as an eye liner. And Sidecar (which is the 4th color on the palette) on my eyelid.

7. Catrice Eyeshadow "Venus vs. Mars" is just a gorgeous color which I used on top of Urban Dacay's "Sidecar"!

8. NYC Expert Last Lip Color "Sugar Plum"

NOTD Ombre Nails

 
I saw a picture of nails like this called "Ombre nails". I really liked it because it's so simple to do, yet it looks so nice!

Ik zag laatste een foto van nagels zoals deze, "Ombre nails" genaamd. Ik vond het echt zo leuk omdat het zo simpel is, maar er toch enorm leuk uitziet!
