Talk#01: Mini's & Samples!

Vandaag heb ik eens iets anders voor jullie: een 'talk'-bericht. Je kent ze wel, de samples & mini's die je vaak in de winkel erbij krijgt, of als je beautyboxen zoals Deauty of Birchbox ontvangt, krijg je ze ook vaak. Vandaag laat ik jullie zien welke ik leuk vind, maar welke ik ook niet zo leuk vind. Benieuwd? Lees snel verder.

Today I have something else for you: a 'talk' article. You know them, the samples and mini's you often get in the shop, or if you receive beauty boxes like Deauty or Birchbox, you probably know them. Today I will show you which ones I actually like and which ones I don't. Curious? Take a look.

Small TBS Haul!

Juli betekend solden! Dan ga ik graag langs m'n favoriete winkels en neem ik een paar dingen mee dat ik normaal misschien niet zou kopen. Als ik nu terug kijk naar de prijzen, is er eigenlijk maar één product dat ik met korting kocht, maar de andere twee zijn mini versies!

July means sales here in Belgium! I love going to my favorite shops and take a few things I normally wouldn't buy. Looking back at the prices now, I noticed that I only bought one product with a discount on it, however the other two are minis!

❤ Body Butter with Grapefruit (€ 4,00)

De body butters van TBS ken je waarschijnlijk wel. Ik gebruik ze ook heel graag en dan vooral de kokosnoot variant. Ik kocht deze mini van grapefruit omdat het wel eens leuk leek deze geur uit te proberen. Het heeft echt die typische grapefruit geur,  maar eerlijk gezegd vind ik de geur niet zo super! Deze bevat 50ml van de body butter, de full size bevat 200 ml (€ 16,00).

I think you probably know the body butter from TBS. I love using them myself and especially the coconut flavour. I bought this mini version with grapefruit because it seemed nice to try this flavour out. It has that typical grapefruit scent, but to be honest I'm not really a fan. This one contains 50ml body butter, full size has 200ml (€ 16,00).

❤ Vineyard Peach Shower Gel (Was € 7,00 - Now € 3,50)

Ik ben al zo vaak in de Body Shop geweest, maar nooit kocht ik er een douchegel. Hij is dan ook wat aan de prijzige kant vind ik - € 7,00 voor 250ml. Maar nu tijdens de solden was deze slechts € 3,50. En perzik is één van m'n lievelingsgeuren! 

I have been in the Body Shop so many times before, and never have I bought a shower gel. I think they are a little pricey - € 7,00 for 250ml. But now in sales it was only € 3,50. And peach is one of my favorite scents!

❤ Indian Night Jasmine Purse Spray (€ 7,00)

Dit is één van de nieuwere producten dat de Body Shop nu heeft: een mini parfum! Handig voor in je handtas, of zoals in mijn geval een geur te proberen. En deze parfum ruikt echt heerlijk. Hij heeft noten van sandelhout, viooltjesblaadjes, sinaasappelbloesem en jasmijn. 

This is one of the newer products you can find now at the Body Shop: a mini perfume! Really handy to keep in your purse, or in my case to try out a scent. And this one smells amazing. It has notes from sandalwood, violet petals, orange blossoms and jasmine.

TBS Deep Sleep Dreamy Body Mist

Dit product stond op m'n lijstje van The Body Shop. Ik was er enorm benieuwd naar wat het juist zou doen. Hier is m'n review over de TBS Deep Sleep Dreamy Body Mist!

This product was on my list of what I wanted to get at The Body Shop. I was really curious about what it would do. So here is my review on the TBS Deep Sleep Dreamy Body Mist!

De deep sleep dreamy body mist is een spray dat je niet alleen op je lichaam kan aanbrengen maar ook op je kussen. Hij droogt vrij snel en zou een goede nachtrust bevorderen. Dankzij een speciale technologie die ervoor zorgt dat er 's nachts telkens geurmoleculen vrijkomen, zou je rustiger slapen.

The deep sleep dreamy body mist is a spray that you not only can spray on your body, but also on your pillow. It dries rather quick and should promote a good night's rest . Thanks to a special technology that makes sure odour molecules are released during the night, you would sleep more calm.

❤ Ingrediënten / Ingredients

Omdat hij zo'n fijne, speciale geur heeft besloot ik een kijkje te nemen naar de ingrediënten. Hij bevat onder andere: essentiële zoete sinaasappelolie, essentiële citroenolie, essentiële lavendinolie, essentiële kamille-olie, essentiële petitgrainolie en jujube-extract.

Because the spray has such an amazing, special scent to me, I decided to take a look at the ingredients. It contains amongst other things: essential sweet orange oil, essential lemon oil, essential lavender oil, essential camomile oil, essential petitgrain oil and jujube date extract.

❤ Hoe werkt het? / How does it work?

Zo'n 15 à 30 minuten voor je gaat slapen breng je de spray aan op je lichaam en/of kussen. Het is wel belangrijk dat je hem eerst goed moet schudden. 
About 15-30 minutes before you go to sleep you spray it on your body and/or pillow. It is important you shake it well before using it.

❤ Mijn mening / My opinion

Ik ben eigenlijk al een vaste slaper, ik kan niet echt oordelen of ik door de spray beter en rustiger slaap of niet. Wat ik wel merk is dat ik nu elke nacht droom. 

Ondanks het feit dat ik niet kan zeggen of ik rustiger slaap of niet, blijf ik hem toch gebruiken. Eerlijk gezegd vind ik het super als ik 's nachts droom (en het 's morgens nog weet) én ik hou van de geur! 

To be honest, I am a hard sleeper, so I can't really judge if the spray makes me sleep better and calmer or not.What I did notice is that I dream every night now.

Although I  can't say that I am sleeping better or not, I am gonna continue using this spray. I love it when I dream at night (and still remember it in the morning) and I love the scent of the spray!

TBS Vitamine E Overnight Serum-in-Oil!

Ik wilde dit overnight serum-in-oil al een tijdje eens proberen. Omdat ik niet vaak in de buurt van een Body Shop kom, duurde het een tijdje, maar eindelijk heb ik hem toch kunnen kopen!

I wanted to try out this overnight serum-in-oil for a while now. Because I don't come near a Body Shop quick, it took a while, but finally I bought one now!

Dit product beloofd je de kracht van een serum in combinatie met een olie te geven. Hij zou een stralende huid geven dat zacht aanvoelt. Je brengt het serum aan voor je gaat slapen (daarom ook 'Overnight') en tijdens je slaap herstelt hij de vochtbalans van je huid. 

Ik zelf heb een gevoelige en droge huid. Vooral m'n T-zone is heel droog. Hierdoor is het niet altijd evident om een goed huidsverzorgingsproduct te vinden. Maar dit serum klonk wel goed. Als je naar de ingrediënten kijkt, zie je dat hij veel olie bevat. Wat super is!

Het serum komt in een schattig lichtroze, glazen flesje  met druppelpipetje. Een pompflacon is misschien iets gebruiksvriendelijker, maar het heeft toch iets meer luxueuzer dit flesje.

This product promises the power of a serum in combination with an oil. It should give more radiance and make your skin feel softer. You apply the serum before you go to sleep (therefor it is 'overnight') and it will repair the fluid balance of your skin.

I have a sensitive and dry skin. Especially my T-zone is very dry. Therefor it isn't always that easy to search for a good skin care product. 

When looking at the ingredients of this serum, you see it contains alot of oils. Which is amazing!

The serum comes in a cute, light pink, glass bottle with drop pipette. A bottle with a pump would have been more user friendly, but this has something more luxurious.

Na een paar keer gebruikt te hebben, ben ik helemaal into dit serum. Hij werkt echt heerlijk! De olie trekt redelijk snel in de huid en laat geen vettig laagje achter. En houd m'n huid zacht én gehydrateerd!

After using this for a couple of times, I'm totally into this serum. It works amazingly! The oil gets into the skin rather quickly and does not leave a greasy layer. It keeps my skin soft and moisturized!

Deauty Box: July 2013

This month it is time for the Deauty Respect Box which is the first themebox they came out with! I really love the idea of natural products that do something good for the nature, the environment or fairtrade, etc.

 

Deze maand is het tijd voor de Deauty Respect Box! Het is de eerste themabox waar Deauty mee uitkwam! Ik hou van het idee van natuurlijke producten dat iets goed doen voor de natuur, het milieu of eerlijke handel, enz.

1. Korres Guava Body Butter: an extra moisturising cream for dry skin conditions. I am so excited to try out a product by Korres! I think this will be my go to body butter for the next month. It has a nice and rich structure which makes it the perfect body butter for these hot sumerdays! (125ml - €16,95)

 

2. Avril Le Crayon Certifié Bio in Bronze Cuivré: I haven't heard of this brand before but I really like the colour of this eyepencil. It is a nice brown colour with a golden shine to it and perfect to change up the normal black eyepencil! (Full Size - € 3,00)

 

3. Avril Nailpolish in Gris Tourterelle: I love love love nailpolishes! So this one is very much welcome in my collection. It has a greyish blue colour which looks amazing! (Full Size - € 2,30)

 

4. Alepia Organic Soap: Another brand I hadn't heard of before! This soap looks really interesting because it has a texture like caramel and it does feel a little bit greasy, but I can't wait to see what this soap will do to my skin! (Full Size - € 17,00)

 

5. The Body Shop Shea Body Scrub: This is one of the lines I normally wouldn't pick up at the Body Shop, but I'm glad Deauty put this scrub in this month's box because it smells amazing! (Full Size - € 5,50)

4. Alepia Organic Soap: Nog een merk waar ik nog niet van had gehoord! Deze zeep ziet er wel interessant uit, hij heeft namelijk de textuur van caramel. Ook voelt hij een beetje vettig aan, maar ik kan niet wachten om te kijken wat deze zeep voor mijn huid zal doen! (Full Size - € 17,00)

It is that time of the month again - My monthly favorites! I think these posts has to be one of my favorite ones to put. I love seeing other peoples favorites as well because I think it is a great way to find out new (or maybe even old) products.

 

Jaja, het is die tijd van de maand weer - mijn maandelijke favorieten! Deze posts zijn één van m'n favoriete posts eigenlijk. Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream

 

For me, personally, an eye cream is, next to a good moisturizer, my most important skincare product. Since I already like a couple of products from the Vitamin E range of the Body Shop, I wanted to try out the eye ceam!

 

Voor mij, persoonlijk, is een oog crème, naast een goede moisturizer, mijn belangrijkste skincare product. Omdat ik al een paar producten van de Vitamin E lijn van de Body Shop had gebruikt (en super vond), wou ik ook de oog crème uitproberen!

 

 

Because your skin around your eye is very delicate you have to use a good cream that wil keep this area protected. I feel this eye cream does its job! Next to protecting the skin, it also hydrates this area really nice. It also helps to reduce fine lines, puffiness and dark circles. I have dark circles and when I use this cream it really see the difference!

 

Omdat je huid rondom je oog zeer delicaat is, moet je een goede crème gebruiken dat goed bescherm. Voor mij doet deze oog crème dat echt wel! Naast het beschermen, hydrateerd hij je huid ook perfect. Hij helpt fijne lijntjes, wallen en donkere cirkels te verminderen. Ik heb last van donkere cirkels onder mijn ogen en wanneer ik deze crème gebruik, zie ik duidelijk een verschil!

 

 

March Favorites 2013

 

1. Catrice Eyebrow lifter "Cassablanca Highlights" (Limited Edition: Hollywoods Fabulous 40ties). I actually use this in the inner corner of my eyes. It's a soft nude pink color which really brightens up my eyes.

4. Vaseline Lip therapy "Aloe Vera" I didn't use this the whole month, but it's in my favorites because in the beginning of the month my lips were broken. I used this lip jelly and the next day my lips were already alot better!

5. L'Oréal Top coat "Confettis" I put an NOTD if this top coat where I paired it together with a pinkish red color. I absolutelly loved the combo of both and I had a lot of compliments on the top coat!

6. Urban Decay Naked palette. I have been loving the black color Creep as an eye liner. And Sidecar (which is the 4th color on the palette) on my eyelid.

7. Catrice Eyeshadow "Venus vs. Mars" is just a gorgeous color which I used on top of Urban Dacay's "Sidecar"!

Bodybutter | Bodyshop vs. Action

 
I think everyone knows the amazing body butters from the Body Shop. When I was in Action I saw they also had body butters, so it seemed cool to compare both of them.

Ik denk dat iedereen wel de geweldige body butters van de Body Shop kent. Toen ik in Action was zag ik dat ze er ook hadden, dus leek het me wel leuk om beiden eens te vergelijken.

In the Body Shop I choose the chocomania body butter which is an exclusive edition and smells so amazing! I got this body butter for € 5 because there is a deal going on now on these body butters. Normally the body butters are € 16 though. In Action I choose the body butter with coconut flavor, cause you know I love my coconut flavors! This one only costs € 1,29! But is it really that good?

The first difference I noticed was the amount of product. Where the Body Shop offers you 200ml, the one from Action gives you 220ml. Another difference is within the product itself. I noticed that the one from the Body Shop has a much 'thicker' structure than the one from Action. The one from Action feels much lighter when taken it out of the pot. Last difference is the fragrance. I feel that you smell the fragrance from the chocolat much more than the coconut one.

For me personally, the one from the Body Shop feels much better on my skin and it moisturizes my skin much better. Although the price from Action is more appealing (I mean come on € 1,29?), I feel that in this case the body butter from the Body Shop really is worth is price (even if I did had to pay € 16)!

In de Body Shop koos ik voor de Chocomania body butter, dit is een exclusieve editie en ruikt zo heerlijk! Ik betaalde € 5 ervoor omdat het nu een speciale deal is. Normaal kosten deze de body butters van de Body Shop € 16. In Action koos ik de body butter met kokosnoot geur, want je weet dat ik hiervan hou! Deze koste enkel € 1,29! Maar is hij ook goed?

Het eerste verschil dat ik opmerkte was de hoeveelheid die je krijgt per pot. De Body Shop geeft je 200 ml, terwijl Action 220ml geeft. Een volgend verschil is het product zelf. De butter van de Body Shop voelt veel 'dikker' aan van structuur dan die van Action. De body butter van Action voelt veel lichter aan wanneer je het uit de pot neemt. Een laatste verschil is de geur. Ik vind dat je de geur in de body butters van de Body Shop veel beter zijn dan die van Action. Ik bedoel, ik rook amper de kokosnoot?

Persoonlijk, vind ik de body butter van de Body Shop veel beter voor mijn huid dan die van Action. Hij hydrateerd mijn huid ook veel beter dan die van Action. Ook al is de prijs van Action misschien beter (Ik bedoel € 1,29?), ik vind in dit geval dat de body butter van de Body Shop echt zijn prijs waard is (ook al had ik € 16 moeten betalen)!

Body Shop Haul

 

It's been a while since I posted a haul and since it was a while I visited the Body Shop I wanted to share what I bought there. Also because there are some nice deals going on now!

Het is een lang geleden dat ik nog een haul heb gepost en omdat het ook een tijdje was geleden dat ik naar de Body Shop ben gegaan wil ik graag tonen wat ik gekocht heb. En ook omdat je er een paar goede producten voor leuke prijzen hebt!

 

 

I have really dry skin on my T-zone, that's why I wanted to try out this vitamin E intense moisture cream which is specifically for very dry skin. I have been using it for a week now and it's such a nice cream. I feel my skin is really absorbing it and loving it!

The moisturizing cream cares and protects for your skin. When you use it on a daily basis it helps repairing the natural moisture barier which makes your skin smooth and relaxed.

 

Ik heb een erg droge T-zone, daarom wou ik de Vitamin E intens moisture cream van de dat specifiek voor erg droge skin is, graag uitproberen. Ik gebruik het reeds een week and het is zo'n goede crème. Mijn huid neemt hem heel goed op en houdt er echt van!

Deze moisturizing crème verzorgt en beschermd je huid. Wanneer je het dagelijks gebruik zal het ook helpen om je natuurlijke vochtbarrière te herstellen. Dit zal je huid glad maken en een ontspannend gevoel geven.

I love the smell of coconut so I couldn't leave this hand cleanse gel! It's a really nice refreshment whenever your hand are in need of it!

 

Ik hou van kokosnootgeur dus ik kon deze hand cleanse gel niet laten staan! Het is een goede verfrissing wanneer je handen het echt nodig hebben!

I always like trying new lip balms out and I love watermelon, so this is the perfect combo for me. I don't like the fact that it's not in stick form but this balm is so good that I don't care! It really moisturizes the lips good and leaves them nice and soft. This balm also gives your lips a nice gloss!

 

Ik hou ervan om lip balms uit te proberen en ik hou van watermeloen, dus dit is de perfecte combinatie voor me. Het enige negatieve wat ik van deze lip balm kan zeggen is dat ik er niet van hou dat het niet in een stick komt. Maar deze lip balm is zo goed dat ik er niet zo hard aan til. Hij hydrateerd de lippen enorm goed en laat ze mooi en zacht achter. Deze balm geeft je lippen ook een mooie, subtiele gloss!

This Vitamin E face mist is perfect for all skin types. It is instantly refreshing and is a moisture boost! On top of that it's perfect to fixate your make-up aswell! And that's exactly what I'm using it for!

Normally this 100ml bottle costs € 12, but if you have a Body Shop loyalty card you get it for only € 1! How could I not buy this right?

 

Deze Vitamine E face mist is perfect voor all huid types. Hij verfrist je huid meteen en hydrateerd. Hiernaast is hij ook perfect om je make-up te fixeren! En dat is waarom ik hem zo graag gebruik! Normaal kost dit 100ml flesje € 12, maar wanneer je een klantenkaart van de Body Shop hebt, kan je hem nu voor € 1 krijgen! Hoe kon ik hem dan ook laten staan?
